Valhalla : Due to Attend the 2020 Show
Valhalla was built in 1964 following the success of the Alan Buchanan designed boat, Rival of Belmont, which won the 1961 Sydney-Hobart race. She's now owned by Tony Burgess who has recently been an enthusiastic participant in some of this season's Classic Yacht Races in Sydney Harbour. Tony has, very kindly, sent in a few photographs of Valhalla from 2018 when she took part in Australia's Wooden Boat Festival. He's exhibiting her again at the 2020 show. Only run on even numbered years, this time it's between Friday 1st and Sunday 3rd May.

Readers interested in Australian Buchanan designed racing boats may also like to know that I've tracked down a similar ship Sequana, also currently for sale, and also a regular competitor in both the Sydney-Hobart Race and the Brisbane-Gladstone Race in the 1960s.
