Peggy : Woodbridge Restoration, January 2020
Peggy was the much loved boat of Philip & Rose-Marie Newman between 1999 and 2016. Once retired, they tried hard to sell Peggy for a fair price but after a couple of years ended up accepting a fraction of her worth from a buyer who promptly sold off her new engine and lead ballast, thus making a profit, and intending to scrap what was left. Fortunately, Eric Crossfield, the original builder's grandson stepped in (December 2019) and bought Peggy. She's been hauled out in Woodbridge to sort out the mess and save her from a shameful end.
I've identified several of her previous owners. I know she won the Liverpool Nobby race in 1993 and 1995 which may help fill in one of the blanks. Peggy also, in 2013, circumnavigated the UK.
Other Nobby and Nobby related boats on this website include Anna Ellidi, Ploughboy, Peggy, Harbringer, May, Juanita, Ziska, Naiad and Ethel.
