Mary Niven : TV Star
David Baggett & Beryl Young have been in touch to say that they are the new custodians of Mary Niven. They purchased Mary Niven in a somewhat dilapidated state in July 2017 and are in the midst of plans to get her ship-shape and afloat again as soon as possible. They hope to sail her to the OGA's 60th Birthday Party Festival in Yarmouth on 2nd June 2018. Over the winter months they have been investigating her history and have very kindly sent in the result of their initial endeavours; a complete list of previous owners.
Like Minion, Mary Niven was in the 1986 TV Programme "Under Sail - Just what the Doctor Ordered" produced by Brian Hawkins and shown on BBC Television. This programme was shown at the 2014 HBA AGM.
I'd last heard of Mary Niven being on the Hamble River in 1990, so it's terrific news that she's reappeared after twenty-eight years of obscurity.
