Elka : Echoes Of Albert Strange
Elka is a charming and eye-catching boat, built in 1936, recently restored and now For Sale (Sale Pending, August 2019) for £8,000 with The Classic Yacht Brokerage. Broker Paul Leinthall-Cowman comments that she has "Attractive lines with Albert Strange influences, spoon bow, canoe stern, long sweeping sheer, round bilges, and a long lead ballast keel". I know of nine of these 'Cooper 6 tonner' yachts, four of which feature on this website. They are Anadyomene (ex Catherine III), Elka (ex Gannet), Fae (ex Fée), Hilo, Islay, Mazilda, Philippa (ex Claudia), Rilla (ex Follow the Sun), and Spindrift Of Teynham (ex Florence Lavinia).
