“Total Loss” in 1952
Trana*, first appearing in the Lloyd's registers in 1947, is recorded as being a “Total Loss” in 1952. Although the association is no longer looking for this boat we are still looking for her story for which a pink star is available.
Trana is an interesting boat because she is the first flirtation of Brixham boat builders JW & A Uphams with Harrison Butler's designs. Having built Trana they went on to build the sixteen Waterbugs. Alas, due to the significant modifications made, the Waterbugs are not considered to be authentic Harrison Butler designed boats. A popular belief is that the Waterbugs are derived from the Zyklon design, but this Omega build suggests another possible source.
