Prima

Prima Design : Published 1938
Design by Joan Jardine Brown, daughter of Harrison Butler

Prima, a Prima class Harrison Butler yacht

Admiring Glances
The Prima design is by THB's daughter, then Miss Ormonde Joan Butler, and he proudly included it in his book Cruising Yachts Design and Performance, published in 1945. I believe the design first appeared in print in the November 1939 edition of Yachting Monthly. Harrison Butler designed the lead keel, sail plan and the cabin plan.
An actual build to the design was started around 2002 when Mike Broome and Kaila Simmons constructed a hull to the design whilst working towards their City & Guilds qualifications in boatbuilding. This was exhibited at the Beale Park Boat Show in June 2004. Classic Boat also featured Prima in May 2004. It's not clear if the project was completed or where Prima is now. I would of course, love to receive up-to-date news of what happened after 2004.
