Firecrest

Firecrest : Speedy & Comfortable Racer/Cruiser
Firecrest was built as a racing yacht to Lloyd's 100A1 in teak and enjoyed many successes in her early years, featuring in Yachting Monthly in 1961 as a result. Oddly, when researching her history, I uncovered the fact that she is recorded as being sunk in my 1970 Lloyd's register of yachts. However, in 2012, when she last changed hands, she was very much afloat with an asking price of £64,000. This price reflected a steady flow of maintenance by boat builder David Moss over the preceding years, particularly in 2007-2008 when she had a major refit in Fleetwood, Lancashire. Update : Now up for sale with BJ Marine in Pwllheli, North Wales (July 2021).
