Dorma and The Exploding Engine
Steve Taylor carried out a “Well executed but respectful restoration” that culminated in a “rebirth” voyage in 2007. Following a successful sail on the river Swale in Yorkshire it was discovered that the engine had exploded. You can read about the voyage and how the tricky situation was handled via the link below.
I've identified some of Dorma's previous owners. These include Kenneth AE Moore who went on to own the very grand 28 ton Hillyard, Golden Beaver. From 1968 onwards Dorma was no longer listed in the Lloyd's Registers at the owner's request.
