Cayuco : Contact Made After 45 Years
A long lost and presumed broken-up boat, designed by Harrison Butler, has made contact with the HBA after an astonishing 45 years absence. When last heard of the boat was called Grey Owl. Her name now is Cayuco, spanish for “little canoe”. She is built to Harrison Butler's Zyklon design but was not built by Lockhart Marine Ltd and so is not one of their fifty or so Zyklon Z4's, which makes her just a little extra special. Now owned by Alberto Ruiz Auqui, the Zyklon's home port is in the Spanish Mediterranean island of Palma de Mallorca. Cayuco's in good condition, as the photographs sent in by Alberto clearly show.
